Monthly Free Software
This section is dedicated to showing you available free software. Each month TOD will describe a different software product that is useful and free. Some of these will be Open Source and some will be personal versions of commercial software. Either way, these are free for you to download and use for your personal needs. At the bottom of this page is a link to the archive of software featured in previous months.
April 2010 - Ad-Aware
Ad-Aware Free Anti-Malware by Lavasoft features real-time protection, a rootkit removal system, e-mail scanning, automatic updates, and much more — to ensure that you have the power to protect yourself online.
Ad-Aware is part of the triple play we at Too Old Dudes use on our home computers. The other two being AVG anti-virus (December 2009 freeware of the month) and Spybot (February 2010 freeware of the month). Using all 3 of these products does a fantastic job of keeping our PCs up and running.
